A Family Festive Spectacular

A magical musical adventure for the whole family this Christmas. Join Maidstone Wind Symphony for a live performance of the soundtrack to The Snowman to accompany a screening of the film, with 2016 BBC Young Chorister of the Year Edward Hyde.
This family-friendly concert also features music from Polar Express and Home Alone Christmas, plus festive favourites A Christmas Festival and Sleigh Ride as well as more traditional pieces by Gabrielli – Sonata Pian’e Forte.

1.00pm-1.45pm - Come and Play with MWS
A chance for woodwind, brass and percussion players to play alongside the band's talented musicians in their performance of Sleigh Ride. Free half-hour rehearsal workshop ahead of a performance during the main concert.
Free and exclusive to concert ticket holders. Pre-booking essential. Open to players aged 11 plus of grade 5 standard or above. Children and adults all welcome.
2pm-3pm - Come and Sing with MWS
Join the massed choir that will learn and later perform the Polar Express concert finale with the band. Open to adults and children aged 11 plus. Vocal experience preferable.
Free and exclusive to concert ticket holders. Pre-booking essential via ticket website.
1.30pm-2.15pm - Kent Music Singing Workshop
A choral workshop led by Kent Music for singers of any ability and aged over 8, without the pressure of a performance.
Free and exclusive to concert ticket holders. Pre-booking essential via ticket website. Children and adults all welcome.
Drop in sessions pre-concert (no booking required):
- Kent Music Instrument Try Outs - Have a go on a range of instruments courtesy of Kent Music (1.00pm-3.00pm)
- Musical Bumps - Pre-school singalong fun with a festive feel (2.30pm-3.15pm)
- Rhythm Workshop - A fun, interactive percussion and drumming drop in session led by members of the band's percussion section. (2.30pm-3.15pm)

Mote Hall is Maidstone’s largest concert venue and is situated within Maidstone Leisure Centre.
Transport and Parking: Maidstone Leisure Centre is situated to the south of Maidstone town centre, a 15-20 minute walk from the town’s two train stations.It offers amply free parking but you need to register your car inside upon arrival if you are staying more than three hours.
Toilets: Mote Hall has toilets located close to the hall entrance.
Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
